Alocrom 407/47
Alocrom 407 and Alocrom 47 are strongly acid, liquid chemicals which when mixed in warm water form a thin, amorphous, iridescent to medium-green chromium aluminium phosphate coating on aluminium alloy surfaces. Coating weights are normally 0.3 - 3.0 gram/m2 and the blend is normally used by dip. The coating meets the requirements of EN 12206-1:2004 (supersedes BS 6496) for extrusion treatment. As Alodine 407-47 in the EU & USA, it is approved to U.S. FDA as a treatment under paint and lacquers on foodstuff containers.
