Alficoat 748 (Alficoat 748/3) is a chromium-free aftercare procedure for anodised (“preano”) aluminium surfaces. In particular, it improves the paint adhesion on the artificially reinforced oxide layer and supports corrosion protection by intensive pore rinsing. The pretreated and dried surface is then powder-coated or painted. The system is approved according to QUALICOAT (No. A - 140) for application on pre-anodised aluminium surfaces.
Alficoat 748 (748/3) can be applied by immersion, spraying or flushing
application. It produces a colourless conversion layer on the anodized surface.
Alficoat 748 (748/3) can also be used for chromium-free pretreatment of
aluminium alloys without anodising and has corresponding approvals by GSB
