Sustainability at A-Gas Electronic Materials

Our culture is focused on working towards ensuring Zero Harm. Zero Harm refers to our unwavering commitment to put safety at the forefront of everything we do, to protect ourselves and others at all times. Health and safety is at the core of everything we do, and we work hard to ensure best practice every day.

We have operated under an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System since 2011. Over the years, we have identified various aspects of our business which could be changed to ensure we are contributing to building a sustainable future.

More recently, we have implemented improvements designed to reduce our environmental impacts. These include: changing all lights to LEDs, swapping our company lease vehicles to hybrid or electric and ensuring we work with partners who share our commitment to sustainability and have environmental policies in place.

Alongside this, all acid and alkali waste produced in our laboratories is disposed of by a certified third-party waste company, and our precious metals waste is recycled responsibly.

Sustainability at A-Gas Group

For over 30 years, through its first-class recovery, reclamation, and repurposing processes, The A-Gas Group has been capturing refrigerant gas for future re-use or safe destruction, preventing its harmful release into the atmosphere.

The result of this effort is that today, A-Gas has become a leading global lifecycle refrigerant management company. At the same time, A‑Gas has captured thousands of tons of gas that may otherwise have been released into the atmosphere – and it is not stopping there.

A‑Gas has pledged to become a net-zero company by the year 2035 and is aiming to reduce existing emissions by 50% by 2028. This not only aligns with the goals of the Paris Agreement, but it brings the company's emission reductions in line with those mandated by Science Based Targets (SBT).

To support its journey towards net-zero, A-Gas has launched a dedicated “Towards Zero, Together” campaign where targeting net-zero is the top of the company’s agenda and will be incorporated as part of its existing ISO Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems.
